DogGoneIt provides a bright spot in a visit to Denali, regardless of the weather. You will have the opportunity to meet the dogs, hold the puppies, and experience the thrills of the Iditarod.

Your intimate visit will bring you to our home and include an hour and a half narrated tour, in which you will learn about sled dogs, the Iditarod, and life in rural Alaska. The tour utilizes multimedia through which you can experience running with a team of sled dogs, sled dogs throughout history, and the feeling of being on the Iditarod trail.

Your visit beings as you spend time with our puppies. Get a chance to hold a young sled dog puppy and see their play area. After you have had a chance for a snuggle and a photo, the more formal part of your visit begins. Watch as a team of Iditarod-bound huskies get ready and take off for a summer training run. Listen to a history of the breed as you watch a slide show of current and historic photos. Meet individual members of the team and learn about their characteristics.

Next, you will move indoors for a multimedia presentation explaining the Iditarod Sled Dog Race and what motivates Mike Santos to participate. See equipment from the race and be entertained by stories of the successes and challenges we have encountered on our journey. Experience the winter trail through video, sound, and light show. Your visit concluded with a chance to ask questions, see more mushing equipment, and get one last view of the dogs and puppies.

Tours daily at 8:30AM, 12:00PM, 3:30PM, and 7:30PM
